National Assembly speaker leaves for Zambia

Luanda, ANGOLA, July 5 - Parliament speaker Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos Thursday travelled to Zambia for two-day working visit, in his capacity as chairman of SADC Parliament Forum. ,

 

Also expected in the Zambian capital, Speakers of South Africa and Namibia Parliaments, Baleka Mbete and Peter Kadjavivi, respectively.

 

In Lusaka, Fernando da Piedade Dias do Santos and his delegation will be received in audience by the host president, Edgar Changwa Lungu to discuss the institutionalisation of the Regional Parliamentary Forum.

 

Luanda hosted on June 20-July 2 the 43rd Plenary Assembly Session of the Forum.

 

The event discussed the theme on transformation of Parliament Forum into Regional Parliament.

 

Angola chairs SADC PF since 40th Plenary Assembly held in Harare, Zimbabwe.

 

The SADC PF is an autonomous institution created in 1997 and which comprises 14 Parliaments.
